Night data bundles are the cheapest way to get internet in Afghanistan, because they only work during off-peak hours, usually from 11 PM to 7 AM. AWCC, ATOMA, Etisalat and Salaam all sell them, from about 25 AFN for a single night. They are ideal for large downloads, app updates and long video calls, as long as you can wait until late.
Tap Copy next to any code, then paste it into the phone app. On an Android phone you can also tap Dial, or Text for an SMS code. iPhones do not allow websites to dial these codes, so on an iPhone tap Copy, open Phone, paste, and press call.
Key takeaways
- Night bundles usually run from 11 PM to 7 AM, so they do nothing for you during the day.
- AWCC's 10 GB and 23 GB bundles give a lot of data for the price, if you use it at night.
- Some "big" monthly bundles are half night data, so read the small print.
- Prices here are the networks' own, paid from airtime.

Bundle codes come from each operator's own website, checked on 1 November 2026: ATOMA, AWCC, Etisalat and Salaam. Main-balance codes and the AWCC, Roshan and Salaam help numbers come from independent guides, so treat those as a good starting point. Operators change codes and prices, so if a code fails, ask the network's help line.
What is a night bundle?
A night bundle gives you data that only counts during off-peak hours. Networks have spare capacity late at night, so they sell that data for much less. AWCC's page and Salaam's page both state a window of 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and ATOMA and Etisalat use the same window for the night part of their mixed bundles.
Outside those hours, the bundle's data does not apply. If you browse at 9 PM, you are using your normal balance, or your airtime. That is the main trap: people buy a night bundle, use the phone in the evening, and lose airtime.
AWCC night bundles
AWCC has the widest choice, and its page says night packs are valid from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
| Bundle | Lasts | AWCC price | Activation code | Check this bundle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3.5 GB | 1 night | 25 AFN | *477*25*1#Dial |
*477*25*4#Dial |
| 3 GB | 7 nights | 40 AFN | *477*75*1#Dial |
*477*75*4#Dial |
| 3.5 GB | 30 nights | 90 AFN | *477*92*1#Dial |
*477*92*4#Dial |
| 10 GB | 30 nights | 149 AFN | *477*199*1#Dial |
*477*199*4#Dial |
| 23 GB | 30 nights | 349 AFN | *477*349*1#Dial |
*477*349*4#Dial |
For comparison, AWCC's normal 10 GB monthly bundle costs 550 AFN. The night version costs 149 AFN, which is well under a third of the price.
ATOMA night bundles
ATOMA sells short night bundles, and one large monthly bundle where half the data is for the night.
| Bundle | Lasts | ATOMA price | Activation code |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 1 night | 25 AFN | *344*41#Dial |
| 3 GB | 7 nights | 75 AFN | *344*43#Dial |
| 50 GB, of which 25 GB is night only | Monthly bundle | 1,199 AFN | *344*40#Dial |
ATOMA's page for the 50 GB bundle says 25 GB can be used from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, so treat it as a 25 GB bundle for daytime use.
Etisalat night bundles
Etisalat activates these by SMS to 3378, like its other bundles.
| Bundle | Lasts | Etisalat price | Activate by SMS | Cancel by SMS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Night 1 GB | 1 day | 25 AFN | NBD to 3378Text |
PU NBD to 3378Text |
| Night 3 GB | 30 days | 99 AFN | NBS to 3378Text |
PU NBS to 3378Text |
| 2 GB, of which 1 GB is night only | 7 days | 99 AFN | ND2 to 3378Text |
PU ND2 to 3378Text |
| 14 GB, of which 7 GB is night only | 30 days | 699 AFN | M699 to 3378Text |
PU M699 to 3378Text |
Etisalat's page gives 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM for those last two mixed bundles.
Salaam night bundles
Salaam calls these Night Surf bundles, and its page says they are valid from 11 PM to 7 AM for a limited time.
| Bundle | Lasts | Salaam price | Activation code | Activate by SMS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5 GB | 1 week | 50 AFN | *740*95*1#Dial |
A SML to 740Text |
| 3 GB | 1 month | 90 AFN | *740*93*1#Dial |
A MDM to 740Text |
| 7 GB | 1 month | 200 AFN | *740*97*1#Dial |
A LRG to 740Text |
| 13 GB + 200 on-net minutes | 1 month | 350 AFN | *740*913*1#Dial |
A XTR to 740Text |
Salaam's 13 GB bundle stands out because it adds call minutes to other Salaam numbers as well.
Roshan night data
| What you want to do | How to do it on Roshan |
|---|---|
| See current bundles and subscribe | Open the My Roshan app |
| Subscribe by SMS | Text the bundle's code to 555 (codes are listed in the bundles section of roshan.af) |
| See remaining data | Open the My Roshan app dashboard |
| Main balance | *444#Dial |
| Help from a person | Call 333 |
Roshan's website does not publish its bundle codes in a form we could check, and the lists on other websites disagree with the prices Roshan shows today. So we are not printing bundle-by-bundle codes here, because a wrong code could buy the wrong bundle. The app and 333 always give the current one. Ask 333 or look in the app for any night bundle currently on offer.
Which night bundle is best value?
This table compares the 30-night bundles above by cost per gigabyte, worked out from each network's listed price.
| Network | Bundle | Price | Cost per GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWCC | 23 GB, 30 nights | 349 AFN | About 15 AFN |
| AWCC | 10 GB, 30 nights | 149 AFN | About 15 AFN |
| Salaam | 13 GB, 1 month | 350 AFN | About 27 AFN |
| Salaam | 7 GB, 1 month | 200 AFN | About 29 AFN |
| Salaam | 3 GB, 1 month | 90 AFN | 30 AFN |
| Etisalat | 3 GB, 30 days | 99 AFN | 33 AFN |
Value is not everything, though. The cheapest bundle is only a good deal on the network with the best signal where you live.
How to get the most from a night bundle
- Schedule updates. Set phones and laptops to install updates at night.
- Download for the day. Save videos, lessons and maps overnight, then use them offline.
- Make long video calls late. If family abroad is in a different time zone, late evening in Afghanistan can suit both of you. Our guide on how much data calls use shows what to expect.
- Keep a small day bundle too. A night bundle will not help with messages at noon, so pair it with a small daytime bundle.
Want a bundle that works all day instead? See the activation codes for every bundle. Family abroad can send airtime so you can activate whichever one you choose.
Frequently asked questions
What time do night bundles start in Afghanistan?
The networks that state a time use 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check the confirmation message for your bundle, because a time can vary between offers.
What happens if I use the internet at 10 PM with a night bundle?
The night data does not apply yet. You will use any normal bundle on the SIM, or your airtime if you have no bundle. Turn off mobile data until the night window opens.
Is a night bundle good for WhatsApp calls?
Yes, if you can call late. It is less useful if you want to be reachable during the day, so many people keep a small daily bundle as well.
Can I buy a night bundle for my family from abroad?
Send airtime to their number, and they can activate the night bundle themselves with the code for their network. It takes a minute, and they can choose the one that suits them.
