How to Cancel a Data Bundle or Stop Auto-Renew in Afghanistan

To cancel a data bundle in Afghanistan, use your network's stop code: on ATOMA dial *344*8#, on Etisalat send PU plus the bundle code to 3378, and on AWCC dial the bundle's cancel code from the table below. For Roshan and Salaam, use the app or call the help line. Cancelling matters most on bundles that renew themselves, because a renewal takes the full price from your airtime again.

Tap Copy next to any code, then paste it into the phone app. On an Android phone you can also tap Dial, or Text for an SMS code. iPhones do not allow websites to dial these codes, so on an iPhone tap Copy, open Phone, paste, and press call.

Key takeaways

  • A renewing bundle can quietly use up airtime you meant for calls.
  • ATOMA says auto-renewal is off by default, and you choose it when you subscribe.
  • Not every AWCC bundle has a cancel code, so some simply run until they expire.
  • Salaam and Roshan do not publish a cancel code we could check, so call them.

Quick table: every Afghan network

Bundle codes come from each operator's own website, checked on 1 November 2026: ATOMA, AWCC, Etisalat and Salaam. Main-balance codes and the AWCC, Roshan and Salaam help numbers come from independent guides, so treat those as a good starting point. Operators change codes and prices, so if a code fails, ask the network's help line.

Why bundles need cancelling

A one-off bundle ends by itself. A renewing bundle buys itself again when it expires, as long as there is airtime on the SIM. Many people only notice when their balance is suddenly much lower than they left it.

So if your airtime keeps vanishing, look for a renewing bundle first. Our balance guide shows how to see what is active on your SIM.

How to cancel a bundle on ATOMA

ATOMA uses one cancel code across the bundle pages we checked.

What to do Code
Cancel your data bundle *344*8#
Open the bundle menu *344#
See remaining data (reply 7) *344#

ATOMA's bundle pages say auto-renewal is off by default and is switched on when you subscribe, so you only need this if you turned it on. They also say that data you have not used is kept when you deactivate, but any remaining megabytes are lost once the bundle expires.

How to cancel a bundle on AWCC

AWCC publishes a cancel code for some bundles, and the last digit is always 2. Where AWCC lists no cancel code, the bundle runs until it expires.

Bundle Lasts Cancel code
200 MB 1 day *477*15*2#
450 MB 1 day *477*2*2#
1 GB 1 day *477*50*2#
2 GB 1 day *477*77*2#
3 GB 1 day *477*99*2#
1,536 MB 7 days *477*3*2#
3 GB 7 days *477*210*2#
Friday 3 GB Fridays *477*90*2#
3.5 GB night 1 night *477*25*2#
3 GB night 7 nights *477*75*2#

AWCC's table marks the weekly 1,536 MB bundle on code 3 as auto-renewing. It lists a second 1,536 MB bundle under code 109, with no renewal and no cancel code, so pick that one if you only want it once. The activation code for it is *477*109*1#.

For monthly bundles, AWCC's page lists no cancel code. Call 152 if you need to stop one.

How to cancel a bundle on Etisalat

Etisalat's rule is simple. Take the code you used to activate, and put PU in front of it. Send that to 3378.

Bundle Lasts Etisalat price Activate by SMS Cancel by SMS
200 MB 1 day 15 AFN D200 to 3378 PU D200 to 3378

40 GB 30 days 1,699 AFN 1699 to 3378 PU 1699 to 3378

You can also call 888, use the My Etisalat app, or visit a shop. Etisalat's page marks bundles such as the daily, weekly and monthly ones as renewing, so this is the network where the cancel code matters most. Its hourly bundles are listed as not renewing.

How to cancel a bundle on Roshan

What you want to do How to do it on Roshan
See current bundles and subscribe Open the My Roshan app
Subscribe by SMS Text the bundle's code to 555 (codes are listed in the bundles section of roshan.af)
See remaining data Open the My Roshan app dashboard
Main balance *444#
Help from a person Call 333

Roshan's website does not publish its bundle codes in a form we could check, and the lists on other websites disagree with the prices Roshan shows today. So we are not printing bundle-by-bundle codes here, because a wrong code could buy the wrong bundle. The app and 333 always give the current one.

How to cancel a bundle on Salaam

Salaam's bundle table lists codes to activate a bundle and to ask about it, but no cancel code. To check what is active, use the enquiry code for your bundle, such as *740*12*2# for the daily 1 GB bundle, and call 744 to stop one.

How to avoid unwanted renewals

  • Read the confirmation message. It normally says whether the bundle renews.
  • Keep airtime low if you want a bundle to end. A renewal needs enough balance. This is not guaranteed to stop every renewal, but it stops the money going unnoticed.
  • Choose a one-time bundle. Buying a bundle for one month means there is nothing to renew next month.
  • Check after you top up. Airtime added to a SIM with a renewing bundle can be used for that renewal first.

If family abroad pays for your data, a bundle sent through a top-up site may suit you better than airtime sitting on the SIM. Our guide to airtime and data bundles compares the two.

What happens to your data when you cancel?

This depends on the network, and the rules are not all published. ATOMA says data not used is kept when you deactivate, but is lost once the bundle expires. On other networks, assume cancelling could end the bundle straight away, and use up what you need first. If it matters, ask the help line before you send the code.

Most networks also do not refund a bundle you have started using. So cancelling usually protects your next renewal, not the money you have already paid. Once you are ready for something new, the activation codes for your network are one step away.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my balance taken after my bundle ended?

The bundle most likely renewed itself. Check what is active on your SIM, cancel the bundle with your network's code, and ask the help line if you do not recognise it.

Can I get my money back for a bundle?

Bundles bought from your airtime are normally final once activated. Ask your network's help line straight away if a bundle was activated by mistake, as they are the only ones who can reverse it.

How do I know a bundle was cancelled?

You should receive a confirmation message from your network. If nothing arrives, check your active bundle again. If it is still there, call the help line in the table above.

Does cancelling a bundle remove my airtime?

No. Cancelling a bundle does not touch your main balance. It only stops the bundle, and any renewal that would have used your airtime.

I bought a bundle from a website. Do I need to cancel it?

A bundle bought for a number on TopUpAFG is a single purchase for that number, and we do not set up any repeat payment. If the SIM has a renewing bundle, that was set up on the SIM itself.
